The Miami County Republican Men’s Club is pleased to present their quarterly breakfast again and this month two special guests will allow you to have “Breakfast with the Judiciary.” It will be a great opportunity to see how the Court system works from two perspectives. This breakfast meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. at the Troy Country Club.

Judge Sharon L. Kennedy is Administrative Judge for the Butler County Court of Common Pleas. Earlier this year she announced her candidacy for Ohio Supreme Court in the 2012 general election. On December 1st she received the endorsement of the Ohio Republican Party. Judge Kennedy is in her third term as Common Pleas Court Judge in Butler County. She will share her experiences as a trial judge and set forth her vision of what she can do on the Ohio Supreme Court.

Former Judge Jeffrey Welbaum is well-known to us here in Miami County, having served as Common Pleas Court Judge since 1995. In August of 2010 he retired and was soon hired by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine to head his Criminal Justice Section. Recently, he announced his candidacy for the Second District Court of Appeals in the 2012 general election. The Second District covers Miami, Montgomery, Darke, Greene, Champaign and Clark Counties. Mr. Welbaum will share his vision for the Court of Appeals as well.

Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp, and the presentation begins at 8:30 at the Troy Country Club. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see what is going on in the judicial branch of our government and get insight on the issues involved in running for judicial office. Seating is limited.

The cost is $15.00 per person, payable in advance or at the door on the day of the breakfast. Advance reservations are suggested and can be made by contacting Club President Jarrod Harrah of Troy, Vice President Joe Gibson of Tipp City, Treasurer Richard Cultice of Troy, or Secretary Shawn Peeples of Bradford. Tickets can also be obtained by writing to the club at P.O. Box 978 Troy, Ohio 45373.

The 79th Ohio House District covers all of Miami County, and parts of Darke County, and Dr. Adams has represented us for two terms.
